Welcome to Vale, Valleys and Cardiff Adoption.
We are the collaborative for Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, The City of Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council and are one of five regional collaboratives which form part of the National Adoption Service in Wales.
Our website explains the adoption process with us. There are videos, stories, blogs and further information throughout the site which we hope will help inform your decision to apply. You are also welcome to call or email us any time to find out more. We would love to hear from you.
Adoption is a huge, life-changing decision. One of the biggest you’ll ever make. Once you decide to find out more about adopting our team of experienced social workers are here for you every step of the way and will guide you through the process. We will talk to you about your decision to become an adoptive parent, provide you with excellent training to prepare you for adoptive parenthood and we will discuss, explore and identify which child/children you would be best suited to parenting.
Once you are approved as an adopter we will support you through the introductory period, be there for you as you settle down and learn to live together as a family and during the formal adoption process. We will also be there for you at any time after the placement for post adoptive support.
